ShoeMoney and TrainSignal Support the Boobies!

Jeremy (ShoeMoney) Schoemaker recently ran an auction on eBay for a company to have him wear their t-shirt for the three days of Affiliate Summit West 2009.

The bidding was up to about $2,500 with 24 hours to go, but increased to $5,200 at the end.

The winner was TrainSignal, a global leader in professional computer training.

In a selfless fashion, TrainSignal decided to bump up their donation amount to $10,000.00!

The funds from the auction are being donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the official charity of Affiliate Summit West 2009.

Thanks a lot, ShoeMoney and TrainSignal! You are my heroes!

Save the Boobies for a Chance to Win Great Prizes @Affiliate Summit

In late 2006, Shawn Collins and I made a pledge to raise money in innovative ways for various charities that assist children; help out the families of stateside and deployed servicemen and women; and fund breast cancer research – a cause that is close to my heart.

We’ve launched cause-related sites such as ShipToTroops.com and AffiliateMarketersGiveBack.com; we’ve worn “unusual” sponsored logo-wear, held goofy contests; sold hugs; walked 120 miles; and together with Affiliate Summit attendees, we’ve raised over $127,000, since January, 2007.

All proceeds have gone directly to benefit  Brothers Big SistersMarch of DimesSusan G. Komen Foundation, Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation and Operation Homefront.

At the upcoming Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas this January, we’ll be holding another one of our entertaining fundraisers.   All money raised from these events will benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

So far, we’ve collected $7,500 for our Staff T-shirt Sponsorship which my friends at buy.at/Platform A so graciously picked up.  I am honored to sport their logo on my shirt during the conference.

We will also be holding the first-ever Affiliate Triathlon, which will be held on Tuesday, January 13th at the Rio Hotel.

It is open to all athletes.  (The term “athlete applies to anyone attending Affiliate Summit 2009 West).

It is a 3-event contest of skill, determination and dexterity… and destined to be filled with laughs.

The winning athlete (highest cumulative score across the three competitions) will be awarded their choice of:

  • One non-corner, 10′ x 10′ exhibit hall booth (value: $5,195) at Affiliate Summit East 2009.*
  • Four Platinum Passes (value: $4,996) for use at Affiliate Summit East 2009.*

*Either prize can be sold or transferred to another person and Affiliate Summit 2009 East, takes place in NYC on August 9-11, 2009.

The entry fee for the Affiliate Triathlon is $100, which is donated directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

If you’re attending Affiliate Summit and you got the “skills” to compete, I urge you to register to participate in this fun event.

Affiliate Summit Supports the Boobies!

There’s no mistaking the fact that I am a proud supporter of most charities that directly fund breast cancer research and treatments as well as provide education and mammograms to the public.

I can’t be more thrilled to announce that Affiliate Summit will be supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation during the upcoming Affiliate Summit Conference in Las Vegas, this January.

Affiliate Summit will be donating 100 percent of the funds received from the following sponsorships:

Affiliate Summit Staff Shirt Sponsorship – $7,500 – SOLD

  • Your logo on the front of the Affiliate Summit staff’s shirt for the duration of the conference.
  • buy.at logo

Affiliate Triathalon – $100.00 per person entry fee.

  • Sign up to participate in a Triathalon designed for affiliate marketers by affiliate marketers to be held on Tuesday, January 13th at 4:30pm at the Rio. We assure you that fun will be had by all participants and onlookers.
  • 1st Prize: a 10’x10’ non-corner booth during Affiliate Summit 2009 East (a $5,195 value); 2nd Prize: a Platinum Pass to Affiliate Summit 2009 East (a $1,249 value); 3rd Prize: a Gold Pass to Affiliate Summit 2009 East (a $549 value).

While I’ve been asked what type of events will be held during the Triathalon, I have been sworn to secrecy. Just know that the games will be equally “winnable” by both men and women and we wouldn’t make you do anything that we wouldn’t do ourselves.

In addition, Shawn Collins and myself, on behalf of Affiliate Summit, will be matching up to $5,000 in donations to NBCF.

Affiliate marketers can make donations online or by check and receive recognition on the Affiliate Summit site for their generous contributions by forwarding a copy of the receipt to realdeal at affiliatesummit dot com.

    The Walk is Over!

    60 Miles Walked, 28 Team Blisters, 1 Fractured Foot….

Raising $47,000+ for Breast Cancer Research — Priceless!

The 2008 Breast Cancer 3-day is over and Team Affiliate Marketers Worldwide can take a well-deserved break.

Day 2 proved to be the most difficult with hills galore — that should have been avoided.  (Note to Breast Cancer 3-day planners!)

Somewhere around mile 30, I was tweeting my remarks when I stepped off a curb the wrong way.  Little did I know that at that point, I fractured my foot.

While it hurt like a bitch, I honestly thought it was a simple sprain or muscle pull, so I kept on trucking.

Morning 3, my foot was swollen and painful, so I went to the Medical Tent and had it examined.  Because there is no x-ray equipment on site, the medical attendant couldn’t be positive that it was fractured.  With that in mind, and because I was determined to finish the remaining 20 miles, I asked him to wrap it up and do the best he could to keep me going.

I walked the remaining miles, loaded up on ibuprophen with one goal in mind — to cross the finish line with the rest of my team.

And that’s what I did.   Team Affiliate Marketers Worldwide waited for each other at the finish line and together we crossed it — it was joyous.

Below are all of the pictures of the walk.  There are more pictures and videos to come as team members catch up with their lives to get them all posted.

    Game On!

Thank you again for all of your support!

    Sincerely,

    Missy Ward
